Gamer Herald - May 2007

According to Epic Games' Mark Rein, gamers can expect an update announcement for Gears of War in the next few weeks. Along with gameplay updates, the patch will include new achievements that will thankfully keep us busy for a few more hours.

"The next Gears of War update is coming along nicely. We don't have a release timeframe for it yet but I just wanted to let you know we're making significant progress. In addition to the previously mentioned plan to improve roadie run we're also going to have new achievements relating to Annex and the Hidden Fronts DLC. Of course no title update would be complete without more exploit squashing and the ever-popular "general housekeeping".

UT3: DirectX 10?

May 13th 2007 17:17
Voodoo Extreme is reporting on a new blog post at Nvidia, announcing that Unreal Tournament 3 will be running on DirectX 10.

More good news, I just had lunch at Vesuvios here with Mark Rein and he confirmed that we can now come out and say that Unreal Tournament 3 will be DX10 and in "The Way Its Meant To Be Played" program for launch. We have a long standing and close relationship with Mark and the team at Epic. We're delighted to be able to confirm this. Thanks to Bill Rehbock, the father of 'The Way Its Meant To Be Played' program for lunch. There will be more news on developments with the Epic team here soon. Thanks Mark.

Running on DirectX 10, this game definitely will look and play better than ever. Unreal Tournament 3 is set to be released later this year.
