Good Morning Gamers,
Well its friday and its time for this weeks installment of Clash of the Titans. Now this weeks opponents are both really huge icons in gaming history. In one corner we have the greatest hero of all time Super Mario, and in the other corner we have the blue-haired fastest hedgehog alive Sonic the Hedgehog.
Super Mario was created by japanese video game creator Shigeru Miyamoto. He has been the main character for Nintendo and the hero in most of his games. Mario has appeared in his first game along side another nintendo character Donkey Kong. Then in 1985 the world was introduced to Super Mario Bros. video game for nintendo. The game has been such hit and since then Mario has appeared in almost 200 video game varying in different genres from driving to role-playing.
Sega realized the formula that Nintendo was using by creating a character to support the Sega brand and thus Sonic the Hedgehog was born. The first Sonic game was released in June of 1991. Since his creation Sonic has sold almost 70 million copies in his series and is one of the most well-known video game character. Sonic the Hedgehog was created as a 15 year old blue-haired hedgehog who runs faster than the speed of light and uses this ability to battle his enemies.
This battle between these two characters has been a long but now as I have seen both of these characters in the same video game. So tell us what you think who is your favorite and who will last longer?
