GTA IV Special Edition
April 20th 2008 05:45
Sweaty palms rejoice! Grand Theft Auto IV hits store shelves in just nine days.
The 29 April release date will be the culmination of weeks of waiting for those who had the foresight to pre-order the very limited 'Special Edition'.
The Grand Theft Auto IV Special Edition presents the game in a customised GTA metal safety deposit box (complete with key), GTA IV art book, CD soundtrack, key chain and a drool-worthy duffle bag.
If you haven't yet pre-ordered, don't bother. Most Australian retailers, namely EB Games and JB Hi-Fi, have exhausted their Special Edition stocks. I wandered aimlessly around a shopping centre today, in search of the elusive goodies, but came up blank.
In true GTA style, I vented my frustrations with a machete, machine gun and a cheap hooker, but my in-store outburst did little to ease my need for a stylish black duffle.
These should sell like overpriced hotcakes on eBay when the much anticipated game finally hits the market.
Rockstar's fourth instalment of the popular title sees gamers take on the role of Niko Bellic, an Eastern Europe hot head. Liberty City has never looked better, and Rockstar has spent countless hours perfecting every pothole and dust particle. Players can climb obstacles, drive cars, steer boats and pilot helicopters.
Gamer Herald will have the full GTA IV review in the coming weeks.

can it live up to the hype? if it does, it will need to revolutionise game playing. how many times have we seen hyped games fall short of the mark.
it is, in many ways, rockstar's fault - they have been releasing tid bits one week at a time.
could it be the iphone all over again? (beating myself with a stick for being too negative...)
