Microsoft is really geared up for the release of the Kinect motion controller, which they believe will innovate the motion controller movement. According to report by Bloomberg, Microsoft Interactive President Don Mattrick stated that will all the pre-orders, consumer interest, and other factors they are expecting big numbers.
The numbers they are talking about are about three to five million units in the this quarter of the release of the Kinect. They also expect the Xbox 360 sales to rise with the release of the Kinect. In its previous quarter the Xbox 360 sold 2.8 million units which is really up from the 2.1 million consoles sold last year in the same time frame.
It looks like Microsoft is still going strong still hanging on to a lead over the Sony Playstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii. I wonder how the Kinect will be received and it looks like the motion controller movement will now be in full swing. The Kinect will release tomorrow in North America.
