The Punisher - Sega Genesis
October 7th 2010 12:55
Good Morning Gamers,
Ok gamers so who has played The Punisher for the Sega Genesis? I know I have and I absolutely love this game. It was published by Capcom but developed by Sculptured Software. It was as an arcade game first then it ported to the home console. The game was released in 1994 (the home version).
The two characters in this game are The Punisher and Nick Fury (2nd player). As Fury and The Punisher go out into New York City on a rampage against all sorts of foes and various Bosses. The main character your against is the Kingpin, so he throws everything at you before you can defeat him.
There are plenty of Marvel charcters in this game such as Bonebreaker, Bushwacker, and Jigsaw. So it stays pretty close to the comics of the Punisher. Now there are differences between the arcade and home version. Some content was censored from the arcade to the genesis version but it still kept the same concept. The game play was the same but it was trimmed down because of the hardware the Sega Genesis had.
So to this day I still pop this game in to play the shoot'em up style arcade game. It truly is a classic
