The (second) best things in life are free
IT'S possible to play free games on your Nintendo Wii providing you have an Internet connection and the Opera browser.
No, you won't be playing games of the likes of Super Mario Galaxy - that is a privilege you'll still have to pay for.
But over at Wiicade.com, some clever people have put together a compilation of the best flash games on the web, optimised for the Nintendo Wii.
Using your Wiimote as a mouse, the games on Wiicade are mainly point-and-click and range from puzzle games (including rip-offs of Bubble Bobble and Line Rider) through to shooting gallery.
The games, once loaded, have been optimised to fill your television screen, so there's no worry about having to play a flash game in a tiny, Youtube-esque box.
The games' longevity is limited, but you'll find the titles are good pastimes, and great ways to relax between more frantic titles such as Mario Kart Wii and Battalion Wars 2.
With WiiWare - Nintendo's answer to fresh, downloadable content that PS3 and Xbox 360 users are used to - coming out very soon in Australia, it's great to know that the Wii community has been filling the gap with its own custom games.
So, check it out, it's worth the trip - click here to visit Wiicade.com.
